BIBLE VERSES ABOUT THE PEACE GOD GIVES
BIBLE VERSES ABOUT PEACE
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it… Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ…
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
Psalm 119:165, 29:11; Colossians 3:15; Isaiah 26:3; Jude 1:2; Hebrews 12:11; Romans 5:1,8:6
BIBLE VERSES ABOUT THE PEACE GOD GIVES
Look around.
Chaos and misery may seem to reign.
They do not! God rules!
But the world you now live in is shattered and becoming more broken every day.
The evil one is running rampant and raging war throughout …
“But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury because he knows that his time is short.” Revelation 12:12
Enjoy the peace only God can provide, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
YOUR TURN …
Repeat, memorize, do. Please make this a permanent part of your life.
“In peace, I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety” Psalm 4:8
COME AND PRAY …
“LORD, You have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or You brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God.
You turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.” A thousand years in Your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night. Yet You sweep people away in the sleep of death—they are like the new grass of the morning: In the morning it springs up new, but by evening it is dry and withered.
We are consumed by Your anger and terrified by Your indignation. You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your presence. All our days pass away under Your wrath; we finish our years with a moan.
Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away. If only we knew the power of Your anger! Your wrath is as great as the fear that is Your due.
TEACH US TO NUMBER OUR DAYS, THAT WE MAY GAIN A HEART OF WISDOM. RELENT, LORD!
How long will it be? Have compassion for Your servants. Satisfy us in the morning with Your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as You have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble.
May Your deeds be shown to Your servants, Your splendor to their children. May the favor of the LORD our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.”
Psalm 90
“My (daughter), do not forget My teaching, but keep My commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity…My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest…
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid… For this is what the Lord says: “I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees.”
Proverbs 3:1-2; Isaiah 32:18; John 14:27; Isaiah 66:12
HOW TO DO THIS AS A WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY
Day One: Experience Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app “Scripture Typer.”
Day Two: Observe & Read Chain. Look up and chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see this video).
Day Three: Interpret Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”
Day Four: Application Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.
Day Five: Testify Who in your life, right now, can you share this with? There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?
