Be Encouraged! God Watches Over You!
GOD WATCHES OVER YOU.
“REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN HAS COME NEAR…
Am I only a God nearby,” declares the LORD, “and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the LORD.
“Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the LORD… The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good…
The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases Him. The LORD detests the way of the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness…The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.
FOLLY BRINGS JOY TO ONE WHO HAS NO SENSE, BUT WHOEVER HAS UNDERSTANDING KEEPS A STRAIGHT COURSE.
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers, they succeed…The path of life leads upward for the prudent to keep them from going down to the realm of the dead.
The LORD tears down the house of the proud, but He sets the widow’s boundary stones in place. The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but gracious words are pure in His sight. The greedy bring ruin to their households, but the one who hates bribes will live.
THE HEART OF THE RIGHTEOUS WEIGHS ITS ANSWERS,
but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil. The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous…Whoever heeds life-giving correction will be at home among the wise.
Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding. Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the LORD, and humility comes before honor…Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.
Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account…Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Matthew 3:2; Jeremiah 23:23-24; Proverbs 15:3, 8-9, 19-22, 24-29, 31-33; Hebrews 4:13,16
GOD IS OMNIPRESENT – EVERYWHERE – IN ALL PLACES ALL THE TIME.
He doesn’t take breaks, or sleep or go on vacation. He is very well aware of all things at all times.
Yes!
Because the world is so very broken and the time for making all things new is not yet come, evil will continue to wreak havoc.
You may be tempted to wonder where God is
Don’t!
Know He is right here and there and will use every evil occurrence for His eventual glory, His kingdom, and your best interests.
You will have to trust the Lord on this. Through it all, God is for you!
Be encouraged! God watches over you!
YOUR TURN …
As thoughts come into your mind, remember God knows
As words come on your tongue, remember God knows.
All your actions – He knows.
Act in accordance to your calling as His daughter.
God sees you. He watches over you.
COME IN HUMILITY AND PRAY …
“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. And, if I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast…In You, LORD my God, I put my trust. I trust in You; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.”
Psalm 139:7-10, 25:1-2
“He is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together… His eyes are on the ways of mortals; He sees their every step… When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
Colossians 1:17; Job 34:21; Isaiah 43:2
HOW TO DO THIS AS A WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY
Day One: Experience Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app “Scripture Typer.”
Day Two: Observe & Read Chain. Look up and chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see this video).
Day Three: Interpret Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”
Day Four: Application Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.
Day Five: Testify Who in your life, right now, can you share this with? There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?
